Applying Gel Polish at home

Applying gel nail polish isn’t rocket science - In fact, it’s a lot easier than applying traditional nail polish. That’s because gel polish is self-levelling, meaning it’ll always give you that smooth shining look and once you’ve cured it, you don’t need to worry about smudging it!

1. Thin layers

Start with a super thin layer of polish. Thin layers help you control the polish and ensures that the polish is fully cured under the lamp. To avoid excess polish, remove almost all of the polish from the brush, before you apply.

2. Clean up any mistakes

Try not to get any polish on your skin, as this can cause lifting and peeling. If you do, wipe it away with a Q-tip soaked on acetone before you cure your polish

3. Cap your nails

Make sure to cap the edges of your nail to seal the polish and prevent chipping.

4. Cure

Once you’ve applied  your polish, cure your nails under your LED lamp for 60 seconds. Darker shades may take longer to cure, so if your polish is still feeling sticky, then keep curing for an extra 30s until the polish is smooth & hard.

5. Repeat

We recommend at least 2 coats for a strong finish. Just remember to cure each layer before applying the next one. To get an extra glossy, extra durable finish, you can use MUSE Society’s Ultra Shine Top Coat after you’ve applied your colour.
It might take a bit of practice but you’ll soon become a pro at DIY gel manicures, saving both time and money. So unleash your creativity and show off your killer nails!
MUSE Society uses no-wipe formula, so you don’t need to worry about sticky residue on nails  like some other brands !
